Question about Jesse [Spoilers]

!Why did Jesse not disappear after the Gale murder? He was laying low after trying to kill the dealers in a laser tag arcade and ready to go off grid forever. He only hits Gale later out of loyalty to Walt.!<

!After the hit, how did he know that Gus wouldn't have him wasted as revenge for both trying to kill the dealers and killing Gale? Meth can be a one man job, as demonstrated by Gale. Why would Jesse still clock into work and not flee first chance he has? !<
