Have you faced any moral policing in Nagpur?

Today my husband and I were having a night walk on the road opposite our flat. some dude just came up to us and started lecturing us about how it doesn't look good that we hold hands or put hands on each other's shoulders.

We told him that we are married but still he was upset and he was talking about how there are old people in society who are not comfortable about our behaviour. He also said that this is a road and not some garden that you can hold hands.

we tried explaining to him but he was still adamant that it doesn't look good. In the end we said if he or anyone has a problem they can close their eyes or stay at home when we walk in the evening.

This is the first time we have experienced something like this. have any of you faced similar things in Nagpur?
