Statin Induced Lupus

Recently diagnosed with statin induced lupus (Drug Induced Lupus technically) after taking 10mg Crestor daily for 18 months. Family high cholesterol even though we are thin and very athletic. Stopped the statin 3 weeks ago and both symptoms and blood work are resolving rapidly. Anyone else experience this and what did you do in terms of cholesterol lowering alternatives beyond diet and exercise, which I am already a fanatic about. I have always been sensitive to medications and don't take anything because of it, usually. But genetic high cholesterol is not something I can gamble with, my father died of a heart attack at 62, mom had 90% blockage in three arteries at about 105 lbs. TIA for your experiences.
