IMO, GLPs prove that thinness is not a moral virtue.

CW: ED reference

Turns out, it was just a hormone imbalance, guys. This whole time, my body just needed a bit more of a particular chemical. The way the hormones got imbalanced is not of major concern to me. They're closer to balanced now, and I'm still the same person I always was, with the same virtues and flaws.

I could have had all the discipline in the world (and often did) to get my daily caloric intake down to zero (or negative!), and all that did was slow down my metabolism so much that I was falling asleep in the middle of the day.

To me, anti-diet culture is the decoupling of thinness/fatness from moral goodness/badness. "If you were a better person, you'd be thin!" and what people really mean by that is "I am a better person [than you] and that's why I am thin."
