Advice for taking the new exam

Hi everyone. I am a CPhT-Adv, and took my exam literally last century. I help technicians in training at my facility to become certified when I can. A colleague has taken the new exam twice, and failed, after buying the PTCB study materials. They are reporting to me about being asked clinical questions that can be answered only by pharmacists, by law. Has this been anyone else's experience from taking this revamped exam? Any insight is greatly appreciated.
