How long can a sponge filter be left turned off?
Hi. I’m moving one of the sponges from my filter into my old tank into a new tank on Monday but I probably won’t have the tank filled up until Tuesday morning. Is it okay to leave the sponge in some old tank water to sit overnight? I don’t wanna kill the bacteria in it though.
I’m picking up my new tank on Monday and by the time I get it home it’ll be late and I won’t have a chance to fill it all that night. There’s also no way that I can grab the sponge on Tuesday to put in (since it’s in another house) so it would have to sit overnight Monday or I could possibly put it in the week after next but I’d prefer to start cycling the tank with it from the beginning
TIA
