Whats the best way to catch up after a 2 year break?

Recently started playing again after a 2 year break. Lo and behold, all of my cards are rotated out, including my rare lands :(.

How can i catch up in a reasonable amount of time? I'm trying to avoid playing just mono colored decks for months before saving up the wildcards to craft the 20+ rares needed for each competitive deck.

So far I'm just doing drafts and dailies, but I was wondering if doing "Jump In" would catch me up faster since I'm essentially missing all of my common and uncommon Standard cards as well.

I'm also not above dropping $10-20 on packs but I would need to be strategic about it. Like which sets have the best overall cards to get?

or do i just say "screw it" and start playing something like Brawl or Historic/Timeless?
