New IFSSH flexor tendon repair recommendations - practice changing?

A nice paper from IFSSH - Tang/Lalonde et al. in the JHSEur
Article has a very good summary table of all the most recent recommendations but the ones from this paper are as follows;
-
A 6-strand core suture is recommended for all repair of the FDP tendon in zone 2.
-
True active flexion exercise should be the key component of early active motion therapy. Active flexion to half of the full flexion arc should form a standard or main part of all therapy after primary repair.
-
Avoid a lengthy incision for a zone 1 and 2 repair in fingers. This is a key to reducing oedema in the finger, making it easier to achieve active flexion postoperatively. If necessary, use a separate incision in the palm to find a proximally retracted tendon.
-
Suture knots should be placed outside the tendon surface. Avoid any knots between two tendon stumps, as this decreases the cross-sectional area for tendon healing and connection of tendon tissue.
-
Traditional running peripheral sutures should be abandoned in all repairs where a six-strand core suture has been used. Instead, a few separate stitches of sutures are placed to close any visible gaps between the two stumps.
-
Place-and-hold exercise should be abandoned, as this is ineffective. It is also misleading as the patient feels that he or she is actively moving the tendon.
