[Showoff Saturday] I built a serverless notepad that runs entirely in your browser — no install, no backend, just open and write
Been tinkering on this for a while — wanted a notepad I could just open without spinning up a server or installing anything.
The result is WebMemo Pro: a pure HTML/JS/CSS notepad that works straight from file:// or any static host. Double-click index.html and it just runs.
A few things I'm fairly happy with:
Native file system access — uses the File System Access API so Ctrl+S saves directly to your local disk, just like a real desktop app. Falls back to download if the browser doesn't support it.
CodeMirror 6 syntax highlighting — detects the file extension dynamically and loads the right grammar. Supports 100+ languages.
Unlimited storage via IndexedDB (via localForage) — no 5MB localStorage ceiling. Multi-tab sessions persist in the background automatically.
Multi-tab, themes, Zen mode, Markdown preview, tab recovery — tried to cover the stuff I actually use day-to-day.
It's completely free and open source. No ads, no accounts, nothing phoning home.

Feedback or issues very welcome — still actively working on it.
