It was never rigged.

DISCUSSION

This game was never meant to be a game that you just hop in, play a few missions against your preferable faction on your preferable difficulty with your preferable gear in disregard to the goals of said missions or the galactic war.

Obviously It's fine to stray away to have some fun, but if that is the only thing you do, this game might just not be for you.

The community is at the very core of this game; strategizing, planning ahead, fighting for something greater... that's all which makes Helldivers special, and this has been the case since its very inception with the first game. There's just no way of getting rid of it without severely compromising the game.

It is really not that big of a deal to engage with the story, you can always play bugs/squids/bots later or at the very least less than the MO objective, play only a few difficulty 10 missions and then lowering it to help if necessary, even joining community discussion and planning in Reddit, Discord or the companion app.

This MO was supposed to be hard, and we only lost because we didn't role-play, didn't take it seriously enough, and choose instead to complain and contradict ourselves. This is not even a complaint about not "tryharding" enough. I think it's fine that we lost, this is how the game is supposed to work after all, but this sort of is a complaint about negativity in this community.

I just ask that in the future we can engage more with the systems in the game, it really seems like most of you don't actually like the game and want it to be something else. Let's be respectful and grateful to AH and ourselves inside the community for the good things we got out of this game. There is always a place for constructive criticism, but we must differentiate constructive criticism from bad faith and hate.
