I think we should be exposing ourselves to men more.
I am NOT talking about going on dates, or actively engaging with them, but only exposing ourselves to them.
I’m not stereotyping all men to be the same either, but since I’ve started working, I’ve spoken to many men, professional relationships, and the way some talk about their wives and the way they treat them has really taken me aback.
For example, weaponised incompetence, asking her for every single decision they make, sometimes just make the decision yourself yk? They shouldn’t need to ask their wife what needs to be done if they couldn’t find something in the store… er then don’t buy it there’s not much you can do or go to another store idk. Shouldn’t need to ask your wife to do that…..
It’s crazy because I feel Allah has protected me by showing me these conversations. I was so ready to settle for less :(
When they ask why I’m not in a relationship, I explain I’m Muslim and I don’t date and what Nikah is etc, and they tell me me about their relationships and I think it’s shown me what to look out for.
It’s how some of them refuse to work if it’s not the job they want, we don’t work for fun we work for money and survival.
A lot of women have told me this is wrong, but how else was I supposed to know when no one talks about these things.
