Maybe I’m doing something wrong

I have temporary sponsors from my old home meeting. I try to stay in touch to keep up with the program and the steps but it always feels like I get the cold shoulder or that they don’t have the same amount of interest in connecting thru program. Does it really take a while to find a member with a high level of interest in working program together? They always say that getting a sponsor and practicing the steps with them is crucial but I have yet to find anyone who wants to. I have also found that woman more often than men talk about having found sponsors they have worked with. I don’t maybe I’m off base here.
