Fistulotomy on Monday
Hi guys I’m a M(24) from Sweden who has had this problem since I was about 15 years old. I noticed a bump next to anus and was to ashamed to tell my mom or anyone, I had leakage and pain but it stopped one day and all I had was a bump which didn’t hurt so I just assumed it was okay now. This summer 2025 almost 9 years later I was in Italy with my girlfriend and her family 🇮🇹 for vacation and one day I woke up with extreme pain and had a really hard time to walk or move around at all, but I was so tired of lying so I decided to tell my girlfriend because they were wondering why I were walking so wierd and slow.. they showed huge support btw and made me seek help.
Last month I were at a clinic and met this AMAZING surgeon! He is really good and extremely knowledgeable and good with people, I didn’t even care that he poked around down there because he made me feel so good 😊, anyway. This doctor even put in a seton and the coming days were painful, yikes. Now on Monday I’m going for a Fistulotomy surgery. I’m scared and I’ve been spending some time in this thread reading peoples stories about having 18 surgeries without success.. I just hope this goes well, especially when I just landed a promotion at work. If anyone has som kind words to share go ahead:) or a shopping list what I need to get to keep this from coming back!
