Can someone explain to me why the fandom places so much value on Top/safe

I just dont understand this. Everyone is very upset about discord being safe and myki meeks being top, but like…. theyre still just safe though. Neither of then won the challenege. I honestly don’t understand the distinction becuase track record does not matter at all on this show. The girl who had the better track record went home this episode.

And thats my frustration about the discourse this season. Alot of it is “this person shouldve been safe, this person shoulve been top safe this person shouldve been bottom safe.” like I dont think any of that really matters in the long term these are fandom created metrics that the show doesnt follow. it doesnt matter.
