How much distance should cars leave when getting back in front of you after passing?

I don't drive truck but am on the road 5+ days a week and I pass a lot of trucks and I always wonder how much room I should leave before getting back in front of them in their lane so that it doesn't mess up their cruise control / distance sensors.
