Told my mom I'm a femboy (went not so well)
I came out as a feminine boy to my mother (first person I've ever told that)
I started by talking about memories from the past. She listened and asked if it was because I wanted to be a woman.
I explained that I want to be a man, but feminine.
And she can't understand that. In her mind, if I want to be feminine, the only possible reason is that I'm a trans woman. I told her that wasn't the case several times, but she didn't change her mind. I used as an example lesbian women who adopt a more masculine appearance (the most common example we see, at least here in Brazil), and she said that in reality, these women wanted to be something they are not (men).
I got very annoyed when she said she hadn't seen anything like that and when I showed her pictures of a feminine man I follow, she started calling him "she" several times, even after I said he was a man who was born a man and identifies as a man.
She said she understands me, but how, if she doesn't even understand that appearance doesn't define who you are? She said I was confused, or that it was because our minds get messed up during adolescence, even though I have memories from when I was 5 or 6 years old, and that confusion doesn't last 10 years. But according to her, it does.
She said she's going to send me to therapy to get my thoughts in order. To get some sense into my head. She said she doesn't support this transfeminine part of me at all. That for her it's wrong. That she wouldn't let me take the h0rm0nes (apparently i can't say that word). And so... My hopes of getting support went down the drain. I'm lost, and my plans to start this change have been kind of extinguished now...
If anyone ever went through similar, I'd love to hear you too <3
