Referee 7th grade basketball

7th grade basketball game is over and my kid’s mom sees another mom whose kid is in the next game. She talks to the mom and makes a comment about one of the officials seeming “biased” and the referee overhears and full on confronts her about the comment. Is this normal behavior? Seems very think skinned - who cares what she said, the game is over.
