sturdy everyday wearable zip up hoodie with animal ears and room to grow

My daughter has an ongoing love of foxes and has requested that her new spring jacket be fox themed with ears. I have previously made her a Brindille & Twig Hooded Raglan Sweatshirt that I added cat ears onto. However, she has outgrown their size range and is wanting a zip up. I don't necessarily need a pattern that includes the ears, but that would be bonus. I'd just really like a tried & true zip up hoodie pattern that will help bridge her from upper end kid's sizes to lower end adult. I'm hoping to make longer cuffs that we fold over and making it a bit longer than she currently needs, but a hood that actually stays on her head is essential. I haven't taken her body measurements lately, but she's currently 52 inches tall and often wears a size 12 because she likes things a little roomy.
