Introducing osu!coach, a player training tool!
Hello! I'm working on a project called osu!coach, a tool that (will) analyzes your osu! standard replays and breaks your performance down into separate skill categories. It then turns those into numeric ratings, and can compare them to the difficulty profile of beatmaps, and from there suggest skills to train and which maps to play to train them! This will eventually be an accessible and easy to use website.
Right now, I'm focusing on the beatmap difficulty analyzer: The part of the program that looks at a map and estimates how demanding it is for each skill individually. It needs some calibrating and fine tuning, but currently looks like this:
I'm looking for volunteers to help with the calibration!
What volunteering involves:
- Join the osu!coach Discord below
- Pick the star rating group that matches where you stop being able to reliably FC
- Download the pre-made map packs for your group (10 maps per batch)
- Play each map on NM only (NF, ScoreV2, and TC allowed)
- Fill out a simple .txt form for each batch:
\- Rank the skills from hardest → easiest
\- Mark which skills define the map, and which were not present
\- Rate the difficulty of each skill relative to the star rating, 1-5.
- Upload the filled-out text file and your replays to a submission channel
You can do as many batches as you want, at your own pace, and stop whenever. Even doing one 10-map batch is genuinely helpful.
