Accepting a domestic offer as a backup in case of US Visa issues
I have accepted a PhD offer in the US. But, I am thinking of also accepting an offer from my home country (Canada) in case I encounter Visa issues or Trump makes a sudden move. The Canadian program is rotational, so no professor will be harmed when I go to the US program.
Will this have negative consequences? I don’t like that I have to do this but I want to plan ahead for the possibility, especially since I am a middle eastern male.
