Beginning trip from LA Union Station... Is this enough time?

Hi... My wife and I are starting our cross country trip across the US taking the Coast Starlight from LA to Emeryville on a Friday morning in mid March. To get to Union Station we need to take a 1-hour Metrolink train from our suburban town. There are trains every 30 minutes.

is 1 hour and 20 minutes before the Coast Starlight departure enough time to get us checked in with baggage and get our coach seat assignment?
