I feel like this doesn't get talked about enough.
There's one piece of fan art featured on the "fan space" page of the Lacey Games website that I find interesting, not so much because of the content, but because of the name of the person who submitted it. The fan art in question is a drawing of Jay that was submitted by an 8 year-old fan named Cory.
Now, as a male who grew up playing a ton of online flash games that were heavily marketed towards females, I LOVE the implication that Lacey Games actually had male fans. Yes, I know "Cory" CAN be a girl's name, however, it is far more common as a boy's name, so I don't think it's unreasonable to assume that Cory is a male.
And on that note, if a Cory IS a boy, I love the parallel of their fan art being of Jay, who was a character that also challenged traditional gender norms. I wouldn't be surprised if Cory liked Jay specifically for that reason.
