Can I learn how to ride not knowing how to ride a bike?

I've always wanted to have a motorcycle, now I have a job and can start saving for it. Many people say it's like riding a bicycle but I never learned how to, not even when I was a kid. Im twenty one now, I got some struggles with balance (I tried to learn how to ride a bike recently, but non health related stuff stopped me from practicing more). I don't have many friends that support me neither bikers that I can ask about the learning process, so is it possible to learn how to ride a motorcycle not knowing how to ride a bicycle? Thanks
