AITAH for fixing up a bed frame?

so i have a friend, i’ll call her jessie; a while ago she told me she got a new bed frame since she’s been sleeping on a mattress on the floor i was pretty thrilled she finally got one.

she invited me over to her place and we put it together, i’ve been kind of the handy friend of our group and i‘ve helped her put stuff together before, so i didn’t think much of it, she gave me some cookies she made and off i went, a while after that our other friend Shane, started acting weirdly with me, like making off hand remarks like “some people should learn to stay in their own lane” calling me the d word (for masculine lesbians, i am not a lesbian but i am pretty masculine though) and a cockblocker behind my back, and just middle school girl shit, it’s pissing me off because he is a grown man in his 20s.

recently i was invited to a party at jessie’s place, i went along with a few of our other friends and Shane was there, the whole time he kept saying shit like “people should learn to stay in their own lane” “some people really need to know boundaries“ all for putting together a fucking bed frame i laughed it off along with most of our friends too, but after a while it stopped feeling like jokes and more “this man hates my guts and is trying to make me uncomfortable“ i finally said something to his face along the lines of “should i break her bed again so you can put it together“ then this man has the audacity to blow up in my face calling me all sorts of slurs (he had been drinking at that point) and I was having none of that i told him he as a man should grow a pair and tell me to my face if we have a problem instead of hinting at it

apparently somethings i said even though they were out of pocket were deserved, i spoke to jessie about this and she said something about him asking to fix it for her but she said she’ll do it herself and she called me. i feel like i should apologize to shane but i don’t feel like doing so either, i really need advice, but first am i the asshole?
