Dreams/sleep/sleep paralysis
35 years old and i’ve been a weed smoker since around 15, only occasionally at first but the past 10 years I would say i’ve been a daily smoker. I’ve suffered from sleep paralysis for a long time now, my early teens I think, weed put a complete stop to it to the point I forgot I even suffered with it until I started taking tolerance breaks regularly a couple of years ago. I started taking breaks to prove to myself that I could do it, a couple of weeks off the bud every 2 or 3 months maybe. Every time I took a break I would have crazy vivid dreams, sleep paralysis, and I would be in bed maybe 2 or 3 hours earlier each night (i go when im tired rather than a set time).
I managed to get a prescription for medical cannabis a couple of months ago, went for an indica with 22% THC, 25g’s per month which is more than double what I would smoke in black market weed even as a daily smoker. I decided to quit altogether because I realised that being able to smoke basically as much as I want and to do it legally was just causing me to smoke at times and places I never would have before and I know that it wasn’t a healthy habit for me.
I smoked my last joint and ate my last edibles 3 weeks ago. Too many edibles if i’m honest, had the biggest whitey of my entire life, it was like my whole body went numb and I had this feeling of electric shocks all over me. I ended up spending a whole weekend in bed, it felt like i’d taken too many pills and was on a bad comedown. This time though I’m still up until 11-12pm, I’ve had no vivid dreams, and no sleep paralysis.
I’m wondering if anyones had anything similar? Is it the medical weed? Indica vs sativa (bm stuff was always strong sativas) or did I just have so much THC the last night that i’ve shocked my body into not going into withdrawls or something?
I’m not going to pretend i’m not missing a smoke, but i’m not finding it too bad at the moment because i’m not suffering with the sleep paralysis which was usually the thing that broke my will to stop and made my end the tolerance breaks. Honestly i’m just bored a lot and trying to figure out what to do with myself.
