Woodworking for charity
I'm a HS art teacher and I'm starting to think about (fantasize) about retirement. My passions are woodworking and woodcarving but I'm realizing I don't want to turn either of those into a business or take commissions. I enjoy making things for people as gifts but the minute money and deadlines are involved, the joy of making turns into a chore. I've decided what I'd really like is donating my skills in some way. I don't want to teach but I'd like making things for people who need and appreciate them. Animals, kids, the elderly...it doesn't matter. I just want to make a difference, give my retirement some purpose, and have fun building while I'm at it. Does anyone have any experience or ideas?
