Why is the Arc Raiders dev Virgil Watkins lying about the AGBMM?

Just saw the interview with from PC gamer with Virgil Watkins where he talks about the agression based matchmaking. He early on says it's not binary, and that there are no such thing as a friendly lobby or an aggressive lobby.

Well, either he is not playing the game and or he has no idea what the built in system results in. Because it really is binary, and super simple. If i don't shoot back, i will within about 5 matches get into super friendly lobbies where no one shoots back. If I however defend myself even once then BAM im back in a more aggressive lobby, not fully, but if i keep shooting at people, then within 5 matches I will eventually be shot on sight.
