Am I seeing more dramas released nowadays?

I’m new to Japanese dramas. Am I seeing more Japanese drama released on Netflix US or it’s just feeding me Japanese titles algorithmically ? If they are being released more, what happened that made Netflix release more of them? And what old titles should I watch so I can at least be attuned to howw it is progressing.
