Getting salt residue under the hood: 2024 2 series

Hi All,

I live in New England and winter has been something. The other day I wanted to check coolant. Popped up my hood and say massive salt residues on the right side of the engine bay (right side only, left side is fine). Anyone else has this problem and is there a solution? Is there something loose that is causing stuff to be tossed up from the tires? Also thoughts on how to wash/detail it?

It did get stuck in snow for like 5 mins during the earlier winter storm.
