A local mechanic replaced my front brake pads and rotors and since then the brakes feel less responsive and I have to press the pedal even more to slow down.

Diagnosing/Repair

I drive a 2020 Honda Accord that I bought from a certified pre owned dealership. It has 28k miles and I bought it back in June of 2023. I went to the dealership twice for oil changes, tire rotations and what not. Instead of going back to them my dad brought me to a local mechanic. We went there two days ago for a maintenance check up and the mechanics replaced my front brake pads and rotors. Since then I noticed the brakes feel less responsive like I don’t actually have brakes and I have to press the pedal down even further to slow down. I have no idea what to do. Do I go back to that mechanic and tell them what happened? Do they use cheaper parts or what? This is my first car ever and I’m lost as to what to do.
