My dog had a spinal seizure and I don’t even know what to do.
Hi everyone,
My dog Rogue had what vets think was a spinal seizure 4 months ago that greatly impaired his ability to move. It started with having trouble going up the stairs and it had gotten worse and worse to the point he can no longer use his back legs. We’ve been in close contact with a vet, used the meds prescribed. Tried supplements after that, tried PT. It’s to the point he can only drag himself. He’s a very odd size, basset mix we think- he was a rescue - so any wheelchair or mobility device we’ve tried with him had need an odd/impractical long term fit. He seems depressed. I can’t tell if he’s in pain. The surgery that MIGHT work costs more than I could afford. I work full time and I just don’t know how much longer I can do this. I’m unsure of what to do. I feel unbelievably guilty all the time and he’s started to eat and drink less. I’m planning another vet visit to talk about what there is to possibly do, save the surgery. Any advice is appreciated I am at a loss.
