Cash for cars

Anyone have any experience with any local cash for cars places? We have a van with less than 100k miles and an engine/cylinder issue. We were quoted way more than what it is worth and would just like to cut our loss on it at this point.

Is it worth it in your opinion? If not we will just donate to IPR.
