Can't pick up a lot of weapons

For some reason I can't pick up E-11 Blaster Rifles from Stormtroopers and the pet cannot fetch them either. Only thing that I could pick up was a DLT-20A from a Scout Trooper.

Any reason for this? I've read online that you should be able to pick up E-11s.
