looking for beginner camera suggestions

style wise: open to everything, not looking for something specific!

cameras i’m considering: canon g7x mark iii but i think im falling for social media propaganda

cameras i have: canon power shot v10 but it’s mainly used for vlogs.

notes: im not looking for something extremely professional but i want to be able to use it for my personal use and also to shoot fun video concepts (which will mainly rely on editing rather than the video quality itself. i would also like something compact so i can take it with me everywhere but im not sure where to start. if anyone has suggestions on what cameras they like please let me know! i feel like a lot of the popular camera recommendations online are due to social media popularity.
