Moving to Skibbereen

As the title suggests, I am moving to Skibbereen this fall! I'll be there for a year for work, and I'm quite excited, as my field is very specific and I'll be getting good work experience.

I am curious, though, about what life outside of work will be like. I'm a woman, in my early 20s, and from the US. I'm not expecting a lively city scene as I know Skibbereen is quite small, but does anyone have any helpful information to share about life in West Cork?
