Westin Maui Room Occupancy

Misc

I think that I’ll know the most common answers but I thought that I’d ask the question to the sub.

Background: I’m currently titanium and will hit that again in 2026. I typically do over a 100 nights at Marriott and have hit ambassador in the past. I’m well aware of “occupancy” rules but I’ve also seen hotels treat our family of 5 practically. For instance, we stay at Fort Lauderdale Harbor Beach twice a year. Their room occupancy is 4 but with my spouse and 3 children under 10, they never question us booking the 2 double rooms. The oldest 2 have a bed and the toddler sleeps between us. They’ve even provided a 5th wristband without asking any questions.

Question: We found cheap flights to OGG for spring break. We’d like to use points for our stay. We’d like to stay at the Westin but their traditional 2 queen rooms have an occupancy of 4 and I know from previous stays they use wristbands. Are the wristbands enforced around the Weston Maui property (pool, beach, etc)? If so, would they be accommodating for a family of 5 and provide a 5th wristband?

Thank you for the input. I think I know the answer and I’m sure this post will frustrate many of you but I’m a worrier and would appreciate intel prior to our arrival.
