What would make a “visited countries” map actually fun to use?

I’ve recently launched a travel planning app (KindaLost) and I’m now working on adding a “where I’ve been” map feature.

I don’t want it to be just another static map with colored countries.

I’m considering things like:

• collecting country or city stamps
• travel milestones
• stats (distance, continents, etc.)
• a timeline of how your map expanded over time

For those of you who enjoy tracking your travels —
what makes a map satisfying enough that you actually keep using it?
