Having a sick baby is so hard, feeling helpless.

Our 5 month old is on day two of some mysterious ailment that we can’t pin down. She had a fever yesterday, is very tired, and doesn’t want to eat much. She’s very obviously uncomfortable, is crying and fussy, and isn’t her smiley, wiggly self.

We went to the ER yesterday for the fever and she miraculously returned to normal for the two hours we were there. However, when we got home she was irritable with a fever again. I’m a little freaked out because she doesn’t have any obvious signs of sickness. She isn’t congested at all and seems to be breathing fine but is obviously very uncomfortable. We’ll take her to her pediatrician tomorrow and are going to ask for a UTI test, but does anybody have any experience with this? I just feel like she’s sitting there in pain and can’t communicate what’s wrong. It feels terrible not being able to help her.
