Dog supplement for joints — which ones actually helped your dog?

Hey everyone, I’m thinking about dog supplement for joints and wanted to hear real experiences before making decisions.

My dog is a 7-year-old Labrador mix who still loves long walks, but lately I’ve noticed he gets a little stiffer in the mornings and slows down quicker than he used to. He’s not in obvious pain, but the vet mentioned that joint support supplements can sometimes help with comfort and mobility in aging dogs. I’ve read a bunch of claims online, but there’s so much marketing noise that it’s hard to know what actually works.

I figured this community might have better insight — especially people who have tried supplements long enough to see real results, for good or bad.

I’m especially curious about a few things:

• Which joint supplements for dogs actually made a noticeable difference?

• How long did it take before you saw changes?

• Did you notice things like more eagerness to walk, better movement on stairs, less stiffness after rest?

• Did you use them daily or only when needed?

I don’t expect miracles, but I’m hoping there’s something that genuinely helps with comfort as my dog gets older.

A few specific things I’ve wondered about: whether consistency really matters (it seems most people recommend daily use), whether some work better for early stiffness versus more advanced issues, and whether there were any side effects worth knowing about.

Would love to hear honest experiences — whatever worked for your dog, and how you figured out it was helping (or not).

Thanks!
