I’m borderline anemic

I’m writing this down due to my experience of being borderline anemic and my family.

Last year I was dealing with dizziness, I would become out of breath so easily, I would struggle to focus, I had brain fog, I would struggle to remember, I had trouble speaking, all the simple tasks became too difficult for me, I had to deal with tinnitus, overall I felt dead and very scared cause I couldn’t pinpoint what was going on with my health and it turn out to be due to low iron.

I live with my mom and I would always complain about those said symptoms and she would just tell me that im having a panic attack / anxiety attack and she wouldn’t understand what exactly im feeling. i told her that I would feel those said symptoms whenever I’m happy and not worrying about my healt and that it would just come and go but my mom on the other hand just wouldnt believe me that it’s literally a health issue that I’m dealing with.

Fast forward to now, I’m experiencing those symptoms again and i was told that I am borderline anemic again and my mom believes that it’s all in my head and that I don’t have anemia at all. I was told that I’m borderline anemic last Monday and my mom went with me to go to the drs to check out my results. Unfortunately my mom is a Spanish speaker but she does understand some English words here and there, so she wasn’t fully able to grasp what was going on with me. Though when my dr mentioned the word anemic, my mom acknowledged it and asked if that’s the reason why I’ve been moody cause there’ll be days where I’m happy and there’s days where I don’t want to interact and act cold. My dr basically said yes but there was a lot of things going on for me in that moment to not being able to translate well in time.

After going to my drs visit my mom still thinks that I don’t have anemia and she still thinks I have stuff going on in my head. It made me really upset cause she went out of her way to come to the drs appointment and acknowledged the conversation my dr had with me despite the language barrier.

Im glad now that I’m able to pinpoint my issues with the help of a dr cause it’s been taking a toll on me where I wanted to learn new hobbies but I couldn’t because I just felt so off. I’ve also tried being active like how I was before but I felt too weak and ill easily get tired and because of that, I haven’t been active for more than a month now and I feel ashamed of it. I was put on iron pills again and I’ve been taking it every other day this past week. All I gotta do is wait until I feel better. But I would like to know if there’s any advice when it comes to dealing with low iron/anemia and wanting to do any physical activity. I feel like a bum and just sad that i cant function the way I used to.
