Example of parents still fulfilling own needs, while caring for a baby
Just wanted to share because I’m proud of how my husband and I crushed this weekend, and I would’ve loved to see a concrete example like this when I was a fencesitter. I needed reassurance that it IS possible to have a baby without needing to give up my fulfilling but demanding job and other things that make me happy.
Friday after work: husband out with friends, wife with baby
Saturday morning: wife catches up on work, husband with baby
Saturday afternoon: wife works out and puts laundry in, husband with baby.
Saturday evening: husband folds laundry and cooks, wife with baby.
Sunday morning: husband goes to gym and grocery shops, wife with baby.
Sunday afternoon: wife out with friends, husband with baby.
So basically, all 3 family members: healthy and happy
Chores: bare minimum but done
Bonding time with partner: very little (working on it, gah- we get a babysitter every few months)
Time to rest: None
It’s not perfect, but it’s the best thing for us and our priorities!
