Checking for Lead????

I have found several cast iron pans and pots in old home workshops. Should I be checking them for lead? Lead was used in many manufacturing processes all the way through the 1970s. Should I be checking these old pans to make sure lead isn’t left over in some process the previous owner did? I am really new to cast iron so this might be a stupid question….
