Visiting the Lake District
Hi everyone,
I'm planning my annual multi-day camping trip, and this year, instead of sticking to Scotland where I live, I'm planning on heading down to the Lake District so that the end coincides with a wee get together I've got planned with some friends is Keswick.
Now, camping outside of Scotland gives me the willies a bit as I get my head around the whole 'wild camping being illegal thing' which I'm not particularly used to.
I'm confident enough in being able to stop on land owned by the National Trust (thank you to the wiki) and in my planning for the walk if I make the decision to stop somewhere else then I'll be doing my best to get permission where possible, however, and this specifically is not me asking for places to camp - I'm more than capable of figuring that out myself - but as I don't know the area at all I'd love some advice on good walking routes that might let stay out for two or three days. Things to avoid, places worth seeing. All that stuff which you wish you knew when planning which a forum of cool, friendly folk who love the same hobby would be itching to share.
Cheer all.
Apologies if this falls foul of Rule 1.
