AITAH for feeling like my relationship is transactional

My bf (26) and |(f27) have been together for almost 8 years. When my bf calls me to come over he's always asking me to bring something (food, drinks) and if he doesn't want anything he won't ask me to come over, and anytime I ask him to buy me something which is rare(like little gifts, he always asking for me to get him a gift). At one point | was just getting him random things he would like or something he's mentioned before. I just feel like everything is transactional between us. (Except for sex) Is it wrong to just want things without having to give something in return? I spoke to him about it and he just said "well I won't ask for anything else". I feel like that's him deflecting the situation instead of acknowledging how I feel about it.
