Mental health issues
Im 15 m and I’ve been noticing a consistent pattern in myself over the last few years. I’m very intellectually curious — I think a lot about physics, philosophy, historical figures, scientists, and comparisons between high-level thinkers (like Leonardo da Vinci vs Paul Dirac type comparisons). I analyze personalities, intelligence styles, and where I might fit. I think deeply about identity and potential. But emotionally, I feel unstable during stress. Patterns I’ve noticed: • When there’s conflict around me (especially arguments), my body reacts immediately. Racing heart, urge to escape, shaking. I’ve had panic attacks triggered by intense situations. • After a stressful event, my brain looks for something to blame. It attaches guilt to small unrelated things (like an awkward phone call earlier in the day). Logically I know they’re unrelated, but emotionally it feels connected. • I swing between feeling ambitious and capable to feeling like I’m nothing and should stop trying. • I care deeply about how I’m perceived. If I say something awkward, I replay it repeatedly. • I compare myself to high-achieving or historical intellectual figures and wonder what category I fall into. • I overanalyze my personality, intelligence, appearance, future, potential. • I feel like I need to prove something, but I’m not sure to who. • I sometimes feel emotionally overloaded, like my nervous system reacts stronger than other people’s. • I have support from my sister, which helps, but I don’t talk openly about everything. I don’t know if this is: Normal teenage identity development Anxiety Trauma response Perfectionism Or just overactive self-awareness How do I: Stop guilt spirals after stress? Reduce panic responses during conflict? Stop obsessively analyzing myself? Build stable confidence instead of swings? I don’t want surface-level advice. I want practical ways to retrain my nervous system and thinking patterns.
