Leaving brokerage

I am leaving my brokerage. I have a client who has put in an offer on a home and we are in negotiations. I understand the client is technically the brokerages, but she’s incredibly flighty and has finally started to trust me. I imagine she would bail as soon as she finds out I am leaving.

Staying with this broker isn’t an option for me, I’ve been pushed into uncomfortable situations that do not align with my morals and values. The commission will be about 3k. While it would be nice to get my pay, I am at peace with losing it (although I would rather not!)

Can I ask that I get paid some percentage from this deal? What would be the best way to word this? Also what have you said to your broker when it came time to switch? I am really nervous to break the news.
