Common decency might be dead
Every Sunday (or almost every Sunday) I love to visit a tiny vegan Cafe for breakfast. I read my book, eat my bagel, and drink my coffee. I love the solitude, the staff, the general calm atmosphere.
Sometimes though, people visit that just don't know their own...volume. I would never, ever complain to a staff member or fellow patron, but it really is annoying when you put your ear buds in and get on a call and you don't realize how loud you are. Like, this Cafe seats only 14 people at a maximum. I known public spaces are just that and that's why I'd never expect anyone to be quiet. However, when your ear buds are in, you don't realize how loud you can be. To the point a woman is now yelling while on a call.
I don't begrudge her this because it sounds like she's catching up with family and lives far from home. (Easy to pick up on things when she's yelling in a tiny space). I just wish my city had a quiet place for me to veg out. When I reached out in my city's reddit page, people had suggestions, and I've tried them, but no luck.
Just needed to vent this. I hope she enjoys her conversation, her family, and her day. Maybe a part of me is just jealous she has family and friends to catch up with, I don't know.
Happy Sunday from Chicago
