Wedding “browsing” before engagement, is it weird?

My boyfriend and I (31m, 29f) have been together for 4 years. We’ve talked a lot about our future, and he told me he plans to propose sometime this year. He won’t give any details as to when, but this week he started asking me for pictures of rings I like. He’s also planning a surprise trip for us in April. So while it’s definitely putting the cart before the horse, I got excited and started looking at wedding planning sites, venues, dresses, etc. But I do feel silly since we’re not even officially engaged yet. I’m obviously not buying anything yet, just getting ideas for what I like and the costs.

Is this normal or should I hold off?
