Travelling to the US
Hey! I'm facing a huge dilemma at the moment and have been feeling really anxious about it. I'm not sure if it's worth going to the US this year.
For a bit of background, I'm European but live in the UK. I'm married to a US citizen and we both live in Manchester. We usually visit his family in Texas every Easter. They live in a medium-sized city about 1.5 hours from Houston.
I have a valid tourist visa, I've never overstayed, and I've never had any issues with the law, so logically I know I shouldn't have anything to worry about. But with everything I've been seeing and reading lately, it's made me question whether it's the right decision to travel right now. I also realise that, as a white European, my experience may be different from others, but the uncertainty is still causing me anxiety.
I wanted to hear from others who are in a similar situation or who have travelled to the US recently. How has your experience been? And from US residents, how are things on the ground? From here in Europe, it can be difficult to tell what the reality is versus what is amplified in the media.
When I posted in US-specific travel groups, many people said I was exaggerating or letting the media fearmonger, but I’d really appreciate hearing a range of honest perspectives....
