Eat-play-sleep or go with the flow?

How do you handle your days of breastfeeding? Baby is 12 weeks and nurses to sleep almost always and usually contact naps all day. Now im reading to start a schedule where they wake up and eat, play, sleep. Sometimes she suckles through her entire nap though. Do I need to teach her to fall asleep without nursing?
